Regional challenges.
International exchange.
Shared practical solutions.

This workshop builds directly on that track record: it brings together the region’s system operators, regulators, industry and academia — and connects them with international expertise — to tackle the shared practical challenges of renewable energy, storage and e-mobility grid integration.
Connect with system operators, regulators, industry leaders and researchers from Asia who face the same grid integration challenges you do — and who will be sharing their own experience throughout the workshop. Build relationships that extend well beyond the event.
This is a genuine two-way conversation. Leading European and Australian specialists join the workshop to share their experience — and to learn from the work happening across Asia. Together, regional practitioners and international experts compare approaches, discuss what works, and tackle shared challenges.
This is not a lecture series. The format is built around discussion and the exchange of real-world experience, lessons learned and best practices — not theoretical overviews. Industry and university research get a dedicated platform to present findings, compare approaches and learn from each other.
The workshop is designed for professionals working on the front line of the energy transition in Asia.
Keeping the grid stable and balanced — every day, with rising renewables and new demands in real time.
Shaping the rules, targets and frameworks that make the energy transition scale across the region.
Building and delivering the technology, projects and services that turn integration into reality on the ground.
Generating the evidence and testing new approaches that drive better decisions in practice and policy.
A 3-day structure that moves from high-level strategy to technical depth:
GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) is a German international cooperation agency that has been active in Indonesia since 1975 and in ASEAN since 2009. On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and other federal ministries, including the BMUKN (Federal Ministry for the Environment, Climate Action, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety) through the International Climate Initiative (IKI), GIZ supports sustainable development through programs in energy transition, green employment, resilient nature, and green infrastructure.
The GIZ office in Jakarta coordinates activities to support the Government of Indonesia and ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations).

Building on this long-standing regional cooperation in the energy sector, this workshop translates strategic goals into technical practice — convening key stakeholders from across Asia alongside international experts to address the practical engineering, regulatory, and operational challenges of VRE grid integration.
